The company is engaged in the research, development and manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products. Its business was founded in 1838. The company was established by Juan Uriach Feliu. It has a registered business office based in Palau-Solita I Plegamans, Spain. The company is recognized as a leader in the pharmaceutical market in Spain and Europe. It operates in six divisions include: the Uriach Pharma, which caters to the marketing of pharmaceutical specialities for medical prescription, and offering drugs that cover a wide range of therapeutic possibilities; the Uriach-Aquilea OTC, focuses on the marketing of unprescribed healthcare products and other pharmaceutical specialities, medicinal plants, and natural, dietary and cosmetic products; the Pharmagenus, engaged in the development of generic drugs; Fine Chemistry and Generics, which focuses on developing, synthesizing and producing industrially active substances (APIs) which supply to generic manufacturers; the Palau Pharma, specializes in the discovery and development of unmet medical needs, specifically in the primary therapeutic fields of interest, inflammatory and autoimmune-based pathologies, include diseases such as asthma, allergic rhinitis, rheumatoid arthritis, atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, multiple sclerosis and ulcerative colitis; and the Uriach industrial chemical activity focusing on the manufacture of tablets, capsules, coated capsules, coated pills, soluble tablets, pellets, sachets, creams and ointments. The company has a collaboration agreement with Arrow Group, one of the major multinational players in the generic drug development and production sector.
